THE CALGARY MILITARY HISTORICAL SOCIETY is a non-profit registered society which fosters the study of the military and police, the heritage of Canada, the British Empire and the world, and the preservation of military artifacts and records.
The CMHS provides:
A focal point for military enthusiasts to meet and exchange material and information, often with experts in many specific subjects;
Personal contact with other interested people on an international scale that is not likely available to the general public;
Access to reference and artifact sources not readily available to the general public;
A place for people of similar interests to socialize in an informal setting.
CMHS Membership entitles you to:
- Meet people with similar interests
- Attend monthly meetings
- Participate and display at CMHS exhibits
- Attend CMHS functions, including our annual levy
- Receive the monthly CMHS journal, Sabretache
- Publish articles in the CMHS journal and on the website
... and more!
We hope this site will be not only a Society tool for keeping our community in contact, with meeting minutes, newsletters and other member services available online down the road, but a place of interest for military historians and aficionados, and the general public alike.
There is no 'private' website member content at this time. So while it's nice that folks do want to register, it's not necessary to do so to access our content. If you want to register, feel free! We can try to convince you to join our society! If you want to contribute articles of interest to our site, though, please do register with us. Otherwise, just enjoy our content.
